  • Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today directed the concerned officers to ensure that all the eligible beneficiaries of various social security pensions 11-12-2014

    Chandigarh, December 11: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today directed the concerned officers to ensure that all the eligible beneficiaries of various social security pensions including the old age allowance in the district have their bank accounts by December 31, 2014 and for this  besides department, additional machinery should also be pressed into service. The Chief Minister who was presiding over a meeting of senior officers  of police and civil administration of district Sirsa at Sirsa said that the pensions for the month of January to be paid in the February are to be directly deposited in the bank accounts of beneficiaries. He said that special arrangements were also be made as per which, pension would be made available at the door step of those beneficiaries who were unable to collect their pension from Banks. At present there were over 1.37 lakh beneficiaries of various social security pensions in the district. The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the vacant posts of Medical Officers and Para-Medical staff in Sirsa and directed to fill up the same at the earliest so that better health care facilities could be provided to the people.  Mr Manohar Lal, also directed the officers to reduce the line losses in the district which is 23 per cent at present. For this, he asked  the officers to motivate the people to pay bill on time.  He said that the State Government is coming up with a  policy under which incentives would be given to those consumers who pay their electricity bills on time while the defaulters would be punished. He was apprised that the recovery of electricity bills in the district is 92 per cent whereas 8 per cent are defaulters.  The Chief Minister also directed the officer to keep a check on the unauthorized construction in the notified areas in the district.  While underlining the importance of common man in the development process of the State, the Chief Minister directed the officers to timely hold the meeting of gram sabhas. He said that there should be no rituals in organizing such meetings else, issues of public interest  should be taken up in the meeting. He said that the government wanted to bring about a change in the system through the active involvement of gram sabhas, he added.  He said that the state government is committed to provide a transparent administration to the people. We will tell people what we are doing and will show what we have did, he said adding that there would be no difference between what we have done and what we have committed. The Chief Minister said that efforts would be made to remove the disbelief among the people regarding the government which have been developed during the previous regime. He directed the officers to maintain proper coordination with the  people and that this could only be possible if they get rid off theselves with the sense of supremacy.  While describing corruption as cancer, Mr Manohar Lal said that to provide a corruption free government would be among the top priorities of the government. For this, there is a need to remove the sense of lust for money, power and property from the mind of people having vested interests. He said that as Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has described himself as Pradhan Sewak,  we should also work with the same spirit to serve the masses.  He said that the State Government is committed towards to upliftment of weaker and deprived sections of the society and ensure the benefit of various welfare schemes of the government reach at the grass root level. He exhorted the officers to implement the schemes and programmes of the government in letter and spirit. He also directed the officers to upload information  pertaining to the department online so that people could come to know  about the functioning of the government online. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Mr Nikhil Gajraj gave a brief presentation on the progress of various departments.
