  • Two progressive cities of Gurgaon and Faridabad will be connected with metro rail line: CM 14-12-2014

    Chandigarh, December 14 – The Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today announced that the two progressive cities of Gurgaon and Faridabad will be connected with metro rail line. The proposal has been finalized and soon it would take off. Presently, Faridabad is being connected with national capital Delhi through metro rail line.           The Chief Minister was addressing a well attended gathering at village Uchagaon in Ballabhgarh assembly segment of district Faridabad where he inaugurated the first phase of augmentation of water supply project. Under the project, 10 Rainney well and 180 tubewells have been setup besides laying 210 kilometer long pipeline, incurring an expenditure of Rs 438 crore.           He said that the drinking water problem of Faridabad city will be resolved by December 2015 because by then all the five phases of augmentation of water supply project will be completed, the first phase of which was inaugurated today. The Chief Minister also announced construction of 7 roads with RMC, the mention of which was made by Ballabhgarh MLA Moolchand Sharma during his speech.           Sh Manohar Lal said that the condition of local bodies in the state is not satisfactory. They are facing shortage of staff and shortage of funds. Their financial health is also not good. He said that funds to the tune of Rs 100 crore have been released to Municipal Committees of the state from Chief Minister’s discretionary fund. In the next financial year, the Municipal Corporations and Municipal Councils will be given grants and employees will also be recruited in these local bodies. At the same time, the chief minister said that every Municipal Councilor will be given grants according to population of his ward for taking up development works there. The Councilors will also be given more powers so that they can serve the people in a better and efficient way.           He said that there are about 3000 unauthorized colonies in the state, which were neglected by the previous governments. He announced that basic facilities will be provided in these unauthorized colonies as well so that the poor people, who have constructed houses here by spending all earnings of their lives, do not have to suffer. The Chief Minister said that affordable housing scheme will be promoted so that all the families in the state get roof on their head and this mission will be completed by 2020.           He said that today he had inaugurated 1st  Celebrity T-20 Exhibition Cricket Match between ‘Bhojpuri Dabangs and Mumbai Heroes’ at Raja Nahar Singh Stadium Faridabad. The Chief Minister announced that a committee has been constituted for developing this stadium in such a way that international level matches can be organized here.           Earlier, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gujjar, who is also Member of Parliament from Faridabad, welcomed the chief minister and demanded to improve sewerage system, drainage system and  provision for adequate drinking water in district Faridabad. He also demanded to connect Faridabad and Gurgaon cities with metro.           The MLA from Ballabhgarh Moolchand Sharma welcomed the chief minister and raised demands of his assembly.           A number of Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) workers joined Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in the presence of chief minister including district president Dr Tejpal Sharma, Azad Bhadana, Sunil Kaushik, Nandkishore and Satbir Sharma and others. Sh Manohar Lal welcomed all these workers into BJP and assured full respect and honour to them in the party at par with the other BJP workers.           Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated 1st Celebrity T-20 Exhibition Cricket Match between ‘Bhojpuri Dabangs and Mumbai Heroes’ at Raja Nahar Singh Stadium Faridabad and presented trophy to captains of both the teams. He said that the stadium will be developed in the way the Raja Nahar Stadium Revival Committee headed Vipul Goel MLA Faridabad would suggest.
