  • There would be no shortage of urea and fertilizer in the state:CM 16-12-2014

    Chandigarh, December 16 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that there would be no shortage of urea and fertilizer in the state. The farmers need not worry as government is quite concerned in this direction and necessary instant steps are being taken to ensure timely supply of fertilizers to farmers.             The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting with senior officers about availability fertilizers here today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister called up Union Minister of State for Railways Mr. Manoj Sinha and urged him to provide at least five railway rakes per day for Haryana. The Chief Minister also requested Union Minister for Fertilizers Mr. Anant Kumar to increase availability of Urea for Haryana. He also directed all Deputy Commissioners for monitoring of fertilizer distribution in the state.             Mr. Manohar Lal directed that Deputy Director Agriculture and Manager HAFED in each district must coordinate and convene a meeting everyday about availability of fertilizers under the supervision of their Deputy Commissioner. All out efforts should be made to provide sufficient quantity of fertilizers to farmers, he added.             The Chief Minister was informed that 3,24,700 metric tones (MT) of Urea is allocated to Haryana in the month of December out of which 1,37,588 MT have been supplied upto December 16 whereas 6090 MT is expected to reach on December 17 and 11,814 MT on December 18. Similarly, rakes of 52,330 MT of Indian Potash Limited, Rashtriya Fertilizers Limited, IFFCO, RCF and CFCL is expected to reach during next week for Rewari, Narnaul, Mewat, Kaithal, Hisar and Sonipat.             It was informed in the meeting that 150 MT and 100 MT Urea is being supplied per day by Rashtriya Fertilizers Limited, Panipat and Sonipat respectively by road.             Those present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Principal Secretary Mrs. Sumita Misra, DGP Mr. S.N. Vashisth, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Mr. Dhanpat Singh and  Managing Director HAFED Mr. Shyaml Mishra. No.IPRDH-2014/
