Haryana Government will soon come up with a new industrial policy : CM 18-12-2014
Chandigarh, December 18 – The Haryana Government will soon come up with a new industrial policy which will spur growth and enable the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to realize their potential and keep pace with the market trends. The department has set its sights on four per cent annual growth in the industrial sector. This was disclosed in a review meeting of Industries and Commerce Department presided over by Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal here. The Chief Minister directed the officers of the department to invite suggestions from all industrial organizations while framing new industrial policy of the state. Representatives of industrial associations, labour unions and other stakeholders should also be involved so as to get a responsible feedback that could lead to industry promotion in a big way as well as to attract investments as per aspirations. The aspects impacting the cost factor of industry should also be considered. The draft of new industrial policy will be ready by March 2015. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to create a mechanism for addressing credit availability issues as well as for export promotion for MSME. He also suggested organizing national and international exhibitions for promotion besides marketing of such enterprises. He prompted the department to initiate specific steps for investment promotion. Mr. Manohar Lal also directed them to lay emphasis on promotion of agro based enterprises under National Mission for Food Processing. It was also informed in the meeting that department is engaged in the activities of employment generation and enhancing employability through skill development. Apart from this, single window mechanism for investors would be adopted for time bound approvals and clearance with composite applications form. Those present in the meeting included Finance and Industries Minister Capt. Abhimanyu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Principal Secretary Mrs. Sumita Misra, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. P.K. Das, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Mr. Devender Singh and other senior officers of the department.
