New sports policy on birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on January 12,2015:CM
Chandigarh, December 21 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal,
today said that the state government would announce its new sports
policy on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on January 12,
Speaking to media persons at Nirwana in Jind Distrct, he
said that the new sports policy would boost sports in a big way and
prove beneficial for the sportspersons. June 21 has been declared as
International Yoga Diwas with the efforts of the Prime Minister, Mr
Narendra Modi. Like sports, Yoga is good for the health of people.
Transparent governance is the priority of the state
government. “Susashan Diwas” is being celebrated on the birthday of
former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on December 25, 2014. On
this day, technology-based schemes would be inaugurated and more
schemes would be announced, he said.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana and Punjab were taking steps to
make Ghaggar river pollution-free. Pollution-free water in the river
could also be used for irrigation purposes in the state. Under this
programme, 20 cities of Haryana and 21 cities of Punjab would be made
pollution-free, he added.
