CM expressed gratitude towards PM for accepting his request to launch ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ ambitious programme from Panipat on January 22. 31-12-2014
Chandigarh, December 31 – The Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will launch National programme ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ from Panipat on January 22 Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal has expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister for accepting his request to launch this ambitious programme from this historical town. He said that it was the first visit of the Prime Minister after formation of BJP government in Haryana and Mr. Modi will start this programme from the land of Haryana. Millions of people across the state would participate in this function. The Chief Minister said that ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ is a visionary programme in the direction of preventing unfavorable impact of declining sex ratio in the country and also to sort out this serious trouble. The prime objective of this programme was to bring a change in people mindset towards girl child on or after her birth. Preventing determination of sex, female feticide, ensuring safety of girls, their best possible care and providing quality education are integral part of this programme, he added. Mr. Manohar Lal said that a national level media and multi-sectoral campaigns in 100 districts in the country would be carried out under this programme having adverse Child Sex Ratio. Apart from this, awareness tours would also be conducted. ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ programme would be implemented in 12 districts of Haryana namely Mahendergarh, Jhajjar, Sonipat, Rewari, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Bhiwani and Panipat have the lowest Child Sex Ratio. The Chief Minister said that two-day seminar-cum-conference would be organized on the beginning of the programme on January 20 and 21, 2015. He said that Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel, Rajasthan Chief Minister Mrs. Vasundhara Raje Scindia and West Bengal Chief Minister Km. Mamta Banerjee would be special invitee in this seminar. Besides, Women and Child Development Ministers and Principal Secretaries concerned of all states have also been invited to express their views in the seminar.
