Karan Tal and Kurukshetra and its nearby areas would be developed under second phase of circuit tourism: CM 13-01-2015
Chandigarh, January 13 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that Karan Tal and Kurukshetra and its nearby areas would be developed under second phase of circuit tourism. The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting of Tourism Department and Tourism Corporation here today. He said that all visitors staying in circuit houses would be provided with complete information of all important places of the area so that they do not face any difficulty while visiting tourist places. The Chief Minister directed the officers to initiate new works to bring the tourist places under profit and to popularize these places of the state. He said that short term courses should be started for cooks and waiters working in various departments in the State Hotel Management Institute so as to make them excel in their field. He directed the officers not to provide free stay and dining facility to anyone in various tourist places running under the Tourism Corporation. He said that credibility of tourist spots with lodging facility should be enhanced so as to create a sense of safety and security among people which would help in increasing the number of visitors in these places. CCTV cameras have already been installed at all tourist spots for this purpose, he added. He said that the the 29th Surajkund International Crafts Mela will be held from February 1 to 15, 2015. The partner nation of this Mela is Lebanon and the theme of Mela is Chhattisgarh. Also, a mobile app has been launched for the public with e-ticketing facility. Tourism Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma directed to make tourism a profitable business adding that more promotion and publicity of International Surajkund Crafts Mela should be done so as to make more people aware of it. Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Principal Secretaries namely, Mrs. Sumita Misra and Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Mr. S.S. Dhillon, Principal Secretary, Finance, Mr. P.K. Das and OSD to Chief Minister, Mr. Mukul Dev were also present in the meeting.
