CM approved financial assistance of Rs.100 crore to Haryana State Cooperative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank. 28-01-2015
Chandigarh, January 28 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal today approved the financial assistance of Rs.100 crore to Haryana State Cooperative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank. The Chief Minister was reviewing the financial position of cooperative banks while presiding over a meeting here today. He also suggested carrying out category wise analysis of loanees so that maximum recovery could be ensured from the beneficiaries who are in a sound position to repay. The cooperative could be made profitable in this way, he added. He also directed the bank officers to take effective steps for improving the recovery from beneficiaries. He said that as per the demand and requirement of the people, they are provided short term and long term cooperative loans. Hence, they should also reciprocate by timely repaying it and inspire others for the same only then business circle of banks would function in a proper manner. The recovered loan could be made available for other needy persons, he added. It was informed in the meeting that under one time settlement scheme started in June 2013, only Rs.60 crore have been recovered upto September 2014. However, a sum of Rs.190 crore has been recovered after the formation of present government in October 2014. The Chief Minister appreciated for recovery position during this period and emphasized to inspire others for timely repayment of their loans. The Chief Minister suggested constitution of a committee under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Finance to submit a proposal to the government by the end of February for improving the financial position of HARCO Bank and Central Cooperative Banks. It should also be ensured that farmers could definitely be benefited with loan schemes and they should also realize the need of loan for others also. Those present in the meeting included Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu, Minister of state for Cooperative Mr. Bikram Singh Yadav, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. P.K. Das, Principal Secretary Cooperation Mr. Alok Nigam and other senior officers.
