Prepare a detailed scheme for strengthening of road network and requirement of new roads in the state: CM 28-01-2015
Chandigarh, January 28 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal today directed the Public Works (Building & Roads) Department to prepare a detailed scheme for strengthening of road network and requirement of new roads in the state including Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). For this, suggestion could also be invited from local legislatures. The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting of the PW (B&R) Department here today. He said that there should not be unmanned railway crossing in any area and a scheme for construction of Railway over Bridges (RoBs) should be prepared wherever required. In the meeting, the Chief Minister has approved the construction of RoBs on Pinjore-Baddi road, on Rohtak road in Jind town, in Kaithal and Ambala on NH 65, Siwani Mandi on Hisar road, Pali on Rewari-Narnaul road, Loharu on Loharu-Pilani road, Jhajjar on Rohtak-Rewari railway line, Baldevnagar on Ambala-Shazadpur road, Barara-Chappar and Umra-Sultanpur in Hansi. He directed to prepare necessary schemes for the same and immediately send it to the Central government as funding of these schemes is to be made under Central Road Funds. Some of these are equally shared by State government and Union Ministry of Railways, he added. It was apprised in the meeting that under PMGSY, schemes for next phase are being prepared for Uchana, Nangal Choudhry, Pataudi-Badshahpur. Contribution of local Members of Parliament is also required for this. As many as 1080 kilometre road network is covered under PMGSY in the state and funding is shared in the ratio of 75:25 by Central and State government. The Chief Minister also directed to explore possibilities for construction of elevated RoB in Mayyad village on NH 10 in Hisar as traffic congestion is a severe problem in Mayyad and decongest it would be priority of the government. He also directed to prepare schemes for construction of RoBs or bypass where problem of traffic congestion prevails in entire state. Those present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary PW (B&R) Mr. Hardeep Kumar and other officers.
