Eight persons have been arrested in the gang rape case of the Nepalese woman in district Rohtak: CM 9-02-2015
Chandigarh February 9: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal said that eight persons have been arrested in the gang rape case of the Nepalese woman in district Rohtak. Seven arrested accused hail from village Gaddi Kheri of Rohtak district and one from Nepal. The Chief Minister who was interacting with the media persons at Surajkund today said that there are indications that this gruesome incident was committed with the connivance of the Nepali person He said that as it was a blind case, hence, it took nine days to arrest the accused. The police has acted promptly in the incident, he added. On being asked about the quantum of sentence to these accused, the Chief Minister said that they have committed a heinous crime and therefore, they should get stringent punishment. He said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted in this gang rape case, under which seven teams have been constituted. All out efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused and solve this case, he further added. Later, in a press conference, the Director General of Police, Mr Yashpal Singhal informed that the police has arrested eight accused out of nine accused involved in this brutal rape and murder case. The name of the Nepali person involved in the case is Santosh and the other arrested accused are Rajesh alias Ghuchadu, Sunil alias Sheela, Sarvar alias Billu, Manbir, Sunil alias Madha, Pawan, Parmod alias Padam. The police is conducting search for arresting ninth accused Sheelkaraam. He said that all the accused have confessed to their crime. He said that the girl was not kidnapped but had left home on her own. The accused murdered her to destroy all evidences, he added.
