  • Motorize Tricycles worth of Rs 40,000 to physically challenged school children. 10-02-2015

    Chandigarh February 10: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal said that efforts were being made to resume the mining activities in the State soon.           The Chief Minister said this in a meeting with Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr Krishan Pal Gujjar here today.           Mr Manohar Lal said that with the commencement of mining activities in the State, not only the construction material would be made available for various development projects but new avenues of employment would be generated.              The Chief Minister urged the Union Minister for providing assistance in setting up de-addiction centres in 12 those districts where there is no such government centre. Apart from this, he also requested him to set up de-addiction centres in the areas adjacent to Punjab on the pattern of District Headquarter. These areas included Kalanwali, Dabwali, Tohana, Guhla-Cheeka, Shahbad, Ratia and Pehowa.           On the demand raised by Social Justice and Empowerment Department Minister Mr Kavita Jain in the meeting, the Chief Minister urged Mr Gujjar to provide grant for setting up old age homes in 15 districts of the State and offered to provide land for the same. At present, Old Age Homes are functional in six districts.           On the issue of providing artificial limbs to the physically disabled Persons, Mr Gujjar apprised the Chief Minister that camps would be organized in each Lok Sabha Segment in the State. In these camps, artificial limbs would be provided to physically challenged person. Apart from this, facility of providing loan to them would also be made available in these camps so as to enable them to start their ventures.           The Union Minister said that Government of India has a plan to provide Motorize Tricycles worth of Rs 40,000 each to physically challenged school children.           In the meeting, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr  Krishan Bedi urged the Union Minister to ensure the early release of Pre and Post matric scholarship schemes being run for the welfare of children belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. On this, Mr Gujjar assured that the same would soon be released.
