Principal approval to three different integrated schemes of about Rs 779 crore for providing uninterrupted traffic flow in Gurgaon: CM 1-04-2015
Chandigarh April 1: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has given principal approval to three different integrated schemes of about Rs 779 crore for providing uninterrupted traffic flow on Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower and IFFCO Chowk Junctions at Gurgaon. The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting of senior officers of various departments here today. It was apprised in the meeting that the project report of this project has been prepared by Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System Limited (DIMTS) which is an ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 27001 certified company. The Chief Minister gave approval to the estimated expenditure of Rs 224 crore for Rajiv Chowk, Rs 248 crore for Signature Tower and Rs 307 crore for IFFCO Chowk. He also approved in principal to bear the expenditure of the proposed project by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and the Haryana Government. The Chief Minister made it clear that no separate toll tax should be collected on these routes. He also directed to explore the possibilities of entry towards Udyog Vihar on Delhi to Gurgaon route. Mr Manohar Lal directed the Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon, HUDA, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and Public Works Department (Building and Roads) to hold regular meetings with NHAI so that the process of project implementation could soon be carried out. It was informed in the meeting that DIMTS has already submitted the draft detailed project report to NHAI. These projects have been prepared with a view to reduce the proposed traffic load in Gurgaon for the coming 20 years. Under this, there would be two-way straight underpass from Gurgaon-Sohna and Delhi to Gurgaon-Medicity route, one way loop underpass and a grade rotary, straight underpass for National Highway No. 8 at Rajiv Chowk, underpass from Medicity towards Delhi, exclusive lanes for the movement of pedestrians and non-motorised transport and a round-about for other traffic. Similarly, on Signature Tower on Jaipur-Delhi route, there would be a provision from HUDA City Centre towards Jaipur, underpass chowk towards Delhi on Maharana Pratap Chowk for uninterrupted movement on conflict points. Apart from this, redevelopment plan of IFFCO Chowk Junction would also be undertaken. Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Principal Secretary Mrs Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Mr P K Das, Chief Administrator, HUDA, Mr Brijendra Singh, Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department Mr P Raghavendra Rao, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Mr S N Roy, OSD to Chief Minister Capt. Bhupinder, Managing Director, HSIIDC, Mr Vineet Garg and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
