He said that Haryana was carved out as a separate State in the year 1966 to make it more developed and progressive. But ironically, the State has always been a target of regionalism during the tenure of previous governments.         Describing corruption as cancer, the Chief Minister retreated his commitment to provide a graft-free government in the State and to break the nexus being operated from last several years to weed out corruption. He recalled that former Prime Minster Mr Rajiv Gandhi used to say that out of one rupee released by the government only 15 paisa reaches the actual beneficiary. But we would make sure hundred paisa reaches them. He said that on the call given by the Prime Minister Mr Narender Modi that Na Khaunga Na Khane Dunga (Neither I take bribe nor I allow others to do corruption, the State Government would ensure complete transparency and provide a graft-free government. This would ensure more development in the State.         He said that the State government is soon going to implement a new scheme ‘ Mahra Haryana Jagmag  Haryana’ under which 24 hour power supply would be ensured to those villages who would pay regular bills and bring the line losses to zero.         While recalling his relationship with Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr Birender Singh, he said that during his first meeting with him, he (Mr Manohar Lal) has told him that he wasted his 40 years in Congress Party. He said that the benefit of someone’s experience could be used for the development of the State and the country above the party lines and added that the power could not be used as a medium to relish luxury.                   Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr Birender Singh said that the people have given BJP a clear mandate in the last 48 year to weed out ugly politics from the country as well as in the State. Taking a dig at the Congress and other opposition parties for misleading the people on the Land Acquisition Bill introduced by the BJP government by terming it as anti-farmer, the Union Minister said that he is the well wisher of farmers and would do nothing wrong for them. Even the Prime Minster Mr Narendra Modi has assured the farmers that the new Bill would be in their interest.         While launching a scathing attack on the previous congress government in the State, he said that the previous government had acquired about 20,000 acres of land at different places in the State and handed over it to builders and now they are posing themselves as the well-wishers of the farmers. He said that land under the New Bill would be acquired for Defence projects and projects of public interest like construction of affordable houses for the poor etc.         Haryana Education Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, BJP State President Mr Subhash Barala and MLA Uchana Mrs Prem Lata also spoke on this occasion.
