Speed up the process for setting up Kalpana Chawla University of Health Sciences at village Kutail in district Karnal: CM 14-04-2015
Chandigarh, April 13 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal today directed the officers to speed up the process for setting up Kalpana Chawla University of Health Sciences at village Kutail in district Karnal. The Chief Minister was presiding over meeting to review the progress of University here today. It informed in the meeting that the proposed Health University would have all the specialty and super specialty departments offering under graduate, post graduate and post doctoral courses. The gram panchayat had offered 100 acres of land free of cost for the setting up of University. The University would have a medical college with 200 MBBS admissions and State of Art 750 beded hospital. Apart from people of Karnal, the University would also cater the health needs of nearby districts. Health Minister Mr. Anil Vij said that proper connectivity would be provided from National Highway to the site of University by way of constructing wide road. All latest technology and infrastructures would also be ensured in the proposed university for medical education and research purposes. Those present on the meeting included Chief Secretary Mr. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Principal Secretary Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Health Mr. Ram Niwas, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. P.K. Das, Director General Medical Education and Research Mr. Pardeep Kasni and senior officers of Health Department.
