  • Water for every field 1-05-2015

    • The state government priority is to ensure water for every field for which important steps are being taken.
    • Eighty-seven new projects worth Rs 127 crore have been given sanction for Flood Control Projects in the state.
    • In order to provide water till the tail end, Rs 135 crore has been spent on the repair and cleaning work of canals.
    • With a view to make use of flood water for irrigation and improvement in the fall of groundwater, construction work of Kotla Lake in Mewat is being completed in a phased manner. In the first phase, the construction work at the cost of Rs 17 crore will be completed by September 2015.
    • The state government is committed to construct SYL canal and get judicious water share of the state in Ravi-Beas water. The state government has decided to file suit before the Supreme Court of India in relation to Punjab Termination of Agreements Act, 2004 passed by Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the government will also sought early hearing on the presidential reference on the validity of the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act of 2004.
    • In order to connect BML-Hansi Branch-Bhutana Branch Multipurpose Link Channel, comprehensive steps are being taken.
    • With the tireless effects of government, success has been achieved in the approval of Kishau and Renuka Dams.
