CM launched online service for issuance of Form ‘C’ of the Excise and Taxation Department 1-06-2015
Chandigarh, June 1 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today launched online service for issuance of Form ‘C’ of the Excise and Taxation Department and hailed it as a significant initiative taken by the department on the raod to good governance. He witnessed a presentation on the online issuance of Form’C’ and handed over a hardcopy to a dealer. Interacting with media persons later, the Chief Minister said that online issuance of Form ‘C’ would prove beneficial to the entrepreneurs, consumers as well as the government. “It is indeed a praiseworthy step which would simplify issuance of Form’C’. Earlier, traders faced lot of difficulties in getting Form ‘C’. Now, online application would pave the way for hassle-free issuance of the form”, he added. In reply to a question, he said that the launch of online Form ‘C’ would ensure transparency. After successful testing of the facility for a month, it would be made compulsory for all traders. Manual issuance of Form ‘C’ was a time-consuming process and the traders had to face many problems. Now the system has been simplified. Asked to comment on the ongoing process of ‘Digital Haryana’ on the pattern of ‘Digital India’, the Chief Minister said, “We have listed 163 services which will be linked with online system to make their delivery hassle-free and transparent. Out of these, 23 services have been linked with online system. We will bring many more services online next year,” he added. In reply to a question regarding implementation of the bio-metric attendance system in offices, he said that adequate required infrastructure for making it a success was being provided. The biometric attendance system is being implemented in a phased manner; after the headquarters, it would be implemented at district, sub- division and block level, he added. Speaking on the occasion, Capt Anhimanyu, Excise and Taxation Minister, said today is an important day in the history of Haryana, especially for the tax management system. After the change of regime seven months ago, the present government, led by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, is doing its best to transform the system. “For the first time, allotment of liquor vends has been done through e-tendering which brought the state exchequer 20 per more revenue as compared to last year”, he added. All activities of the department would now be done at the click of the mouse and rolled out within a month. Online issuance of form ‘C’ was a long pending demand of dealers which has now been met. It would ease the entire process, improve efficiency and enable the department to not only achieve its budgeted target but also give better results, Capt Abhimanyu said. Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. Roshan Lal, Director General Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Excise and Taxation Commissioner Mr. Shyamal Mishra, and seniorofficers were also present on the occasion.
