  • Power utilities would invest about Rs 6500 crore in the NCR region of the State in the next three financial years: CM 9-06-2015

    • Chandigarh June 9: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the power utilities would invest about Rs 6500 crore in the NCR region of the State in the next three financial years for the upgradation of generation capacity, transmission and distribution network.
    • Mr Manohar Lal, who was speaking at the 35th meeting of National Capital Region Planning Board ( NCRPB) at New Delhi today, said that   Haryana is augmenting power resources to cater to the exponential growth of demand of power in the NCR towns of the State.He said that the projects of power utilities have been funded through various national institutions like Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) and Power Finance Corporation (PFC).He requested the NCRPB to expeditiously sanction some of these projects that would be submitted to it for funding upgradation of transmission and distribution network. He also thanked the NCRPB for recently reducing the interest rate from 9.25 per cent to 7.5 per cent for the power sector projects in the participating states and implementing agencies at par with the priority sector projects.
