  • CM offered his support to Punjab CM to resolve common issues with dialogue so that people of both the states could be immensely benefited. 19-06-2015

    • Chandigarh, June 19 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal today offered his  support to Punjab Chief Minister, Mr Prakash Singh Badal to resolve common issues with dialogue so that people of both the states could be immensely benefited.           
    • The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at 350th foundation day celebrations of Sri Anandpur Sahib at Anandpur Sahib. Union Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh and BJP National President Mr. Amit Shah  were among the prominent personalities present on this occasion.
    • He said that earlier Haryana was a part of joint Punjab. After the inception of Haryana as a separate state, it  was like elder and younger brothers  and the  people of both states have cordial relations. There were some common issues between both the states which need  to be addressed for benefit of people. This will  strengthen brotherhood and accelerate the pace of development of both the states.
    • While paying reverence to the holy land of Sri Anandpur Sahib on behalf of people of Haryana , Mr. Manohar Lal said that Sikh community has enormous history of supreme sacrifices for the country. The supreme sacrifices  of Guru Tegh Bahadur began from this historical land which cannot be forgotten. Once  our country had the status of universal leader, but a time came when we were enslaved by foreign forces. Such activities were stopped by sacrifices of great leaders of Sikh community including Guru Tegh Bahdaur.
    •             He also highlighted life of Guru Tegh Bahadur who traveled from Anandpur Sahib to Delhi to sacrifice his life for freedom of religion and the right of people which ignited the light of sacrifice in the entire country. The first sign of this wave was in village Badkhalsa in district Sonipat in Haryana. He also highlighted the sacrifices of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
    •             Speaking on this occasion, Union Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh said that the nation  cannot forget supreme sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus and Sikh community. Shershah Suri, Maharana Pratap, Chatrpati Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh, Guru Tegh Bahadur, Lala Lajpat Rai and Sardar Bhagat Singh are among prominent great personalities who fought for the nation. He said that Prime Minister had to come here to pay homage but he was unable come due to visit of Tanzania’s President to Delhi.
    • He also appealed to the people to take a pledge for complete eradication of drugs from the society and nation. However, government is trying in this direction but support of  people is also required. BJP National President Mr.  Amit Shah, Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Yogrishi Swami Ramdev and some religious leaders also spoke on this occasion. Chattisgarh Governor Mr. Balramji Dass Tandon, Punjab BJP President Mr. Kamal Sharma, Member of Parliament, Ministers and a number of dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
