CHANDIGARH, June 22 : Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today said that the State Government has decided to organize cultural events in all blocks of the State to promote our rich culture and traditions at the grass root level.
Mr Manohar Lal was speaking at the ‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’ jointly organized by Haryana Cultural Affairs Department and Haryana Kala Parishad on the occasion of first International Yog Day at Karnal last evening.
He said that the Cultural Affairs Department has prepared a plan under which plays, Hasya Kavi Sammelans , folk songs and other cultural events would be organized in all blocks of the State twice a year. The aim of organizing these cultural events was to apprise the young generation about our culture and tradition and also to channelize their energy in positive direction.
The Chief Minister said that humour and satire plays a vital role in our life as it not only entertains us but also infuses among us fresh energy to deal with tensions of day-to-day life. He said that sometimes due to tension and urgent works we are unable to perform to our best ability but humour and satire not only rejuvenate us but also deliver useful messages. However, he urged the people to refrain from making fun of others in the name of humour.
Earlier the Chief Minister shared some hilarious moments of his life which were thoroughly enjoyed by the audiences.
Speaking on this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Cultural Affairs Department Mr Vijay Vardhan said that laughter and humour is a serious business. He said that it is usually said that a ‘Man of Laughter is a Man of God’ and added that people of Haryana are warm hearted who never take tension. He also congratulated the people on the occasion of first International Yoga Day and said that the credit goes to Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal who has made Yoga a medium in the development process of the State.
Later, the renowned poets namely Surender Sharma and Dr Sunil Jogi the recipients of Padamshree, Sardar Manjit Singh, Dr Anu Sapan, Dr Parveen Shukla, Dr Popular Merathi, Mr Kalim Samar and Master Mahender gave scintillating performances which made the audience spellbound.
MLAs namely Mr Harwinder Kalyan, Mr Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, former Minister Mr I.D Swami, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department Mr Abhilaksh Likhi, other senior officers of district administration and a large number of people were also present on this occasion.
