  • CM adopted village Keorak in district Kaithal to develop it as ‘Adarsh Village’. 22-06-2015

    Chandigarh, June 22 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today adopted village Keorak in district Kaithal to develop it as ‘Adarsh Village’.           While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that this is the 25th village of Haryana which has been adopted by MLAs to be developed as Adarsh Village under Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojna.           He said that the main objective of the scheme is to trigger processes which lead to holistic development of the identified Gram Panchayats. It aimed at substantially improving the standard of living and quality of life of all sections of the population by improving basic amenities, better livelihood opportunities, reduced disparities and access to rights and entitlements. He said that it would also help in generating models of local level development and effective local governance which can motivate and inspire neighbouring Gram Panchayats to learn and adopt. The scheme would ensure social security, environmental development, economic development, social development and human development.           He said that the scheme also aimed at strengthening of local democracy through strong and accountable Gram Panchayats and active Gram Sabhas. It would also ensure timely redressal of grievances filed by the people and there would be half-yearly social audit of the programme implementation by the Gram Sabha.
