Chandigarh June 25: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today said that two Smart Cities would be developed in the State which would be developed in the areas of electronics, power and residential area. He added that yardstick has been laid for developing smart cities and those two cities of Haryana who would meet these yardsticks would be included in this scheme.
The Chief Minister was interacting with the media persons after the launch of three mega urban schemes namely, Smart Cities Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Housing for All by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi at New Delhi today.
Minister of Urban Development and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Mr M.Venkaiah Naidu and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation. Babul Supriyo were also present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that the three schemes launched by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi today would accelerate the pace of urban development in the country besides increasing people’s participation in development.
On this occasion, Prime Minister also released Logo, tag line and guidelines of Smart Cities Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Housing for All.
Secretary of Ministry of Urban Development Mr Madhusudan Prasad, Haryana Chief Secretary Mr D.S Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department Dr Mahavir Prasad and Resident Commissioner Haryana Bhawan Mr Anand Mohan Sharan were also present on this occasion.
