  • PWD (Building and Roads) 30-06-2015

    • A sum of Rs 465 crore has been spent on improvement, repair, widening and carpeting works of 1,354 kms long roads.
    • A sum of Rs 47 crore has been spent on improvement of National Highways.
    • A sum of Rs 170 crore has been spent on the construction of 40 buildings and 37 houses and construction work has been initiated on 35 buildings at the cost of Rs 125 crore.
    • Construction work of 200-bedded complex at the cost of Rs 45 crore has been initiated in Civil Hospital, Panipat and 100-bedded hospital has been improved at the cost of Rs 38 crore in Ambala Cantt.
    • Thirteen projects of 138 kms long roads at the cost Rs 360 crore have been sanctioned by the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways, Government of India.
    • A sum of Rs 54 crore has been spent on the construction of Road over Bridges, Road under Bridges and bridges.
    • While giving approval for construction of RoBs on Pinjore-Baddi Road, on Rohtak road in Jind City, On Kaithal and Ambala road at NH-65, in Siwani Mandi on Hisar road, on Rewari-Narnaul road in Pali, Loharu-Pilani road in Loharu, on Rohtak-Rewari Railway Line in Jhajjar, on Ambala-Shahzadpur road in Baldevnagar, approval has also been given for construction of RoB in Ayodhya-Chappar and Umra-Sultanpur in Hansi.
    • A project at the cost of Rs 354 crore has been approved by Standing Finance Committee for receiving financial assistance Under NABARD Schemes.
    • The State Government would soon get completed the work on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, which is pending for the past many years.
    • The work on four-laning of National Highway-73 between Yamunagar and Panchkula is being re-started.
    • Nine new National highways have been announced. They are Meerut-Sonipat-Kharkhoda-Sampla-Jhajjar-Charkhi Dadri-Loharu, Jhunjhnu-Chidawa-Narnaul-Ateli-Rewari (Rajasthan border to Narnaul-Ateli-Rewari), Dabwali-Hanumangarh-Paka-Samoka-Goluwala Kenchia, Shahpura-Alwar-Ramgarh-Nuh-Gurgaon, Sardulgarh-Sirsa, Bhiwani-Mundhal-Jind-Karnal-Merrut, Jind-Gohana-Sonepat, Kotputli-Narnaul-Mahendergarh-Dadri-Bhiwani-Hansi-Barwala-Tohana-Mansa-Bathinda and Ambala-Saha-Shahbad.
    • Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has removed six toll plazas located on State Highway namely Gurgaon-Sohna (near Badshahpur), Bahadurgarh-Jhajjar-Dadri-Loharu-Pilani (Rajasthan Border), Sardulgarh-Sirsa (Punjab Border), Gohana-Sonepat (Uttar Pradesh Border), Sohna-Nuh-Ferozepur Jhirka-Alwar (Rajasthan Border) and Narnaul-Singhana (Rajasthan Border).
    • Keeping in view the environment, the first CNG based D.E.M.U rail service was started from Rewari to Rohtak on January 13, 2015.
    • Three integrated schemes amounting to Rs 779 crore were approved to improve transport movement at Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower and IFFCO Chowk junction in Gurgaon.
    • Approval was given for preparing Detailed Project Report of express highway from Yamunanagar to Bawana (Narela-Bahadurgarh road). This 200 km long express highway would cross Indri-Karnal-Munak-Sonepat and Rs 1000 crore would be spent on its construction.
    • A railway over bridge on LC-27 in Sonepat, a low height subway at Geeta Nagar, Rohtak and one bridge each has been constructed at Ambala, Mewat, Dadri and Hansi.
    • The Indian Railways has approved three new rail projects amounting to Rs 1074 crore namely Mathura-Palwal 4th line-80 kilometer, Bypass Ambala Mohri-Shambhu seven kilometer and Rohtak-Bhiwani 48 kilometer.
    • The Railway Ministry has given approval for survey work of Farukhnagar-Charkhi Dadri via Jhajjar-65 kilometer and a rail line between Hisar and Narwana 65 kilometer.
    • The Indian Railways has approved the electrification of Rohtak-Bhiwani line 45 kilometer and Hisar-Ratangarh-Kanakwal and 143 kilometer part of Mandi Dabwali-Dhaba line Hisar-Bathinda-Suratgarh-Falodi-Jodhpur-Bhildi.
    • The State Government has approved work programme for soon starting work on 34 RoBs and RuBs during 2015-16.
