Chandigarh, July 23 – Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal said that the State Government would formulate a policy for the promotion of Haryanavi films and he also announced that Haryanavi film ‘Pagdi-The Honour’ will be free from tax.
It is the first Haryanvi film which has won two national awards. It has also bagged the title of best film (Haryanvi) and has also won best supporting actor (female) award.
The Chief Minister, who was speaking after the special screening of ‘Padgi-The Honour’, here last evening announced a discretionary grant of Rs 10 lakh for the film.He said that more such movies should be directed and government would continue to encourage and support the production of such movies. This movie directed by Mr. Rajiv Bhatia exhibits the Haryanavi culture in best manner. Haryana has a very rich culture with moral values.
Among prominent personalities present on this occasion included Minister of State for Transport Mr. Karan Dev Kamboj, MLA Panchkula Mr. Gian Chand Gupta, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. R.K. Khullar, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Jagdish Chopra, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, well known Actor Mr. Yashpal Sharma and other senior officers of the State Government.
