  • CM urged the legal fraternity to make efforts to provide economical and prompt justice to the poor and the needy. 4-08-2015

    • Chandigarh August 4: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has urged the legal fraternity to make efforts to provide economical and prompt justice to the poor and the needy and also stressed the need to minimize litigations.
    • Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the members of Bar Association of Punjab and Haryana High Court at Punjab and Haryana High Court here today. On this occasion, he also announced to give Rs one crore to the Association from his discretionary fund. He also assured the Association of all support and cooperation of the government.
    • The Chief Minister said that while discharging their responsibilities the lawyers should consider the economic condition and background of the clients. He said that a peaceful society could only be attributed to less number of litigations and added that the State Government is also laying emphasis on redressing the disputes through counseling and mediation so as to minimize the court cases.  
    • While lauding the role of lawyers for serving the society, Mr Manohar Lal said that people have high hopes and aspirations from the courts, might these be of lower level or High Court and Supreme Court for redressal of their grievances and for ensuring a peaceful society.
    • Speaking on this occasion, acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Mr. Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar was all praise for the Chief Minister    for setting up 24x7 grievance redressal system. He said that he had also got a privilege to meet the Chief Minister twice earlier and he was quite impressed with his functioning.
    • President of Bar Association of Punjab and Haryana High Court   Mr. Harpreet Singh Brar  said that within a short span of about nine months, Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has created a number of milestones including setting up of 24x7grievance redressal mechanism like, 'Harsamay' the Citizen Portal of Haryana Police.
    • Those present included senior Judges, Advocate General of Haryana Mr Baldev Raj Mahajan, Advocate General of Punjab Mr Ashok Aggarwal, and lawyers and a large number of members of Bar Association.
