Chandigarh, August 5 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has lauded the achievements of players of Police Department who have brought laurels to the state by winning medals in World Police and Fire Games held in Virginia in the USA from June 26 to July 5, 2015.
While congratulating the players, who had called on him at his residence here today, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has announced its new sports policy under which a provision has been made to provide employment to players according to their achievements. He said that earlier also the players of Haryana Police had brought laurels to the State and the Police by winning medals in various national and international events.
Those players who had won medals and called on the Chief Minister included Kulwinder Singh of Indian Police Service who has won gold medal in golf, Inspector Rajender Singh had won gold in wrestling, Inspector Satish had won silver medal in wrestling, Inspector Satyawan had won bronze medal in wrestling and Inspector Puneet Rana had won a total of six medals in various competitions in swimming. Inspector Mausam Khatri, Naveen Mor, Assistant Sub Inspector Jagbir and Head Constable Manjit had won gold medals in their respective weight categories of wrestling.
Others present on the occasion included Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr Bakshish Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Home Secretary, Mr P.K. Mahapatra, Director General Police, Mr Y.P. Singhal and other senior officers of Police Department.
