    • Chandigarh, August 22— In a bod to shore up solar skill training and expand the use of solar energy in the state Haryana Government has signed an MOU with Applied Materials Inc, global leader in providing material engineering solutions.
    • The MoU was signed at Santa Clara in California in the presence of the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, who is leading a high-level delegation to US and Canada for bringing investments to India.
    • Applied Materials, Inc. is an American corporation that supplies equipment, services and software to enable the manufacture of semiconductor, flat panel display, Glass, WEB and solar (crystalline and thin film) products.
    • Headquartered in the Silicon Valley, the corporation has a history of strong academic collaborations and corporate social responsibility exemplified by its donation to the Advit Foundation of New Delhi which is an empanelled electronics sector skill council training partner in new and renewable energy It  provides solar PV training program to 1,000 aspirants, and is also managing the energy park for HAREDA in Sector 29 of Gurgaon.
