Chandigarh August 28—The Haryana Government intends to make the rules of change of land use for social works easier. This was hinted by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, in Bahadurgarh, near Rohtak, today.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone of Maharaja Agrasen Medical University in Bahadurgarh. He also laid stones of four new medical, nursing, paramedical and hospital management colleges to come up in the medical university at the cost of about Rs 500 crore.
The Chief Minister said that with the setting up of Maharaja Agrasen Medical University, the whole state and its nearby areas would get the facility of better medical education and healthcare. It is a big achievement for Haryana as well as its adjoining state Delhi. The present state government is committed to providing better healthcare facilities at village level.
He said that the state government was pacing up the process of setting up one medical college in Manethi, Kalpana Chawla Medical College in Karnal alongwith new medical colleges in eight districts. In the remaining districts, medical colleges would soon be set up. The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of Agrasen Hospital Charitable Trust made towards medical university.
The Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr Birender Singh, said that no society or nation could progress without proper education. Though there is lack of adequate health care facilities in the state and the country but after the formation of BJP Government in Haryana and at the Centre, concerted efforts were being made in this direction.
Haryana Health Minister Mr Anil Vij and Agriculture Minister Mr O.P Dhankar also spoke on this occasion.
