Chandigarh, September 17 – Haryana Government will set up international level yoga and naturopathy centre at Panchkula. This international level yoga and naturopathy centre would be established on public private partnership mode where treatment facilities would also be provided to poor people.
This was decided in a meeting to review the construction of Vyayam and Yogshalas in villages held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal here today. Education Minister Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, Health Minister Mr. Anil Vij, Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu and Agriculture Minister Mr. O.P. Dhankar also present in the meeting.
It was also decided in the meeting that the Vyayam and Yogshalas would operational under District Sports Councils in each district. A search committee would be constituted under the chairmanship of concerned Deputy Commissioner which would recommend the name to engage one Yoga Coach in every district. Besides this, 1000 volunteers would also be engaged under outsourcing policy for 1000 yogshalas to be constructed in the first phase.
It was informed in the meeting that World Herbal Forest was being developed at Morni Hills in district Panchkula. This is being developed at a cost of Rs.234 crore in coming five years. About 75,000 herbal saplings had already been planted out of the total plantation of 1.15 lakh so far.
Health Minister Mr. Anil Vij said that State Health Department will soon open Panchkarma Centres in all districts in the state. In the first phase, these centres would be opened in available place in the districts. For this, all the Deputy Commissioners have been directed to identify available unoccupied building in their respective districts. All these Panchkarma Centres would be operational on no profit-no loss basis. Natural medical care would be provided in these centers, he added.

Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Education Mr.Vijai Vardhan, Additional Chief Secretary Development and Panchayat Mrs. Navraaj Sandhu, Principal Secretary Health Mr. R.R. Jowel, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. P.K.Das, Principal Secretary Forests Mr. Amit Jha, Director Sports Mr. Jagdeep Singh and other senior officers also present in the meeting.
