Chandigarh September 20- Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal said that the State government has decided to organize cultural events though out the State to promote the rich culture of Haryana. He also invited the Nav Chetna Manch and other Non Government Organizations (NGOs) to come forward and partner the State Government in this campaign.
Mr Manohar Lal was speaking as a chief guest in a felicitation function jointly organized by Nav Chetna Manch and Municipal Corporation Karnal at Karnal today. On this occasion, a musical evening ‘Suhana Safar’ was also organized in which patriotic and old melody songs were presented by the singers which were lauded by the audiences.
Singers of Sur Sangam International, Nagpur namely Ms Surabhi Dhomne, M Sagar, Mr Sarang Joshi and Mr Amar kulkarni and music arranger namely Mr Mahendra Dhole and Mr Sachin Dhomne enthralled the audiences with their splendid performances.
The Chief Minister said that Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs department has prepared a calendar of cultural events to be organized in the State to apprise the youth about our rich cultural heritage of Haryana. The department has already started organizing these programmes and about 300 such programmes would be organized throughout the year upto block level. He said that the government has also decided to infuse moral values among the students while imparting them education. He said that such values could be infused among them through shalokas of Gita and teachings of other holy books. Apart from this, the government has also decided to include yoga in the school curriculum to ensure their all round development.
He said that the State government has taken steps to promote the Haryanvi Culture in the State. The government recently has given tax exemption to a Haryanvi movie ‘ Pagdi Da Honour’ which gives a message against the honour killing. Any cultural event which spreads message against social evils prevailing in the society should be given exemption in entertainment tax as per the rules, he added.
