Chandigarh, December 2 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that a three-member committee has been constituted to investigate the incident in which patients suffered damage to their eyes following surgery conducted during a camp organised by a charitable hospital in Ambala Cantt. Strict action would be taken against those found guilty, he added.
In a statement issued today, the Chief Minister said that Haryana Health Minister, Mr. Anil Vij, has personally visited the PGIMER, Chandigarh to meet the victims. He said that as per the report issued on Tuesday, the doctors have affirmed that the eyesight of the victims could be restored.
He said that in Fatehabad not even a single issue has been neglected including drug mafia. Many effective measures are being taken against drug and liquor mafia to save our younger generation from its adverse effects, he added.
He said that with a view to strengthening the democratic setup and to fulfill our promise, it is for the first time after many years that the winter session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha has been convened this year.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that it is a sorry state of affairs that the session is being used by the political parties to fulfill their own political benefits. Both the ruling and opposition parties should bring the matters of public concern for healthy discussion in the session, but on the contrary, the opposition party comes unprepared to create nuisance, he added.
