Chandigarh December 6 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal flagged off trucks carrying relief material for flood victims of Tamil Nadu from Mini Secretariat, Panipat today and announced to give Rs one crore out of Disaster Relief Fund of the government. Mr. Manohar Lal also urged the people of the State to go to haryanacmoffice.gov.in to contribute to the Chief Minister Relief Fund.
He described the Tamil Nadu floods as a national disaster and said that people of Tamil Nadu have been facing many problems due to it. He said that people of Haryana should help the people of Tamil Nadu in this hour of need. The Chief Minister expressed deepest condolences for those who lost their lives in this disaster. As Panipat is famous for its blanket industry, therefore the government has decided that it would send relief in the form of bedsheets and bedding worth Rs 21 lakh for the help of flood victims. The relief material would be deposited in the storage camp set up at stadium in Chennai. Transport Minister, Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar and MLA, Mr. Mahipal Dhanda were also present on this occasion.
