Chandigarh, August 19– The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, inaugurated a photo exhibition organised by the Photo Journalists Welfare Association (PJWA) on the occasion of World Photography Day at Kalagram, here today.
Organised in association with the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Culture, the exhibition will remain open up to August 28 from 10 am to 7 pm every day. The exhibition is portraying the photographic skills of more than 53 photo journalists working in various publications in the tricity.
The 90 frames on display depict various phases of life, including festivities, flora and fauna, sporting arena, human miseries, weather and various other elements.
Speaking after going around the exhibition, the Chief Minister said, “I salute the dare of these photojournalists who sacrificed their comfort to display their best in a single shot so that our society gets the true pictures next moment. I appreciate the efforts of PJWA for this initiative and wish they undertake more such programmes.”
Mr Vicky Gharu, acting President of PJWA, said that this initiative had been taken to show our works to the public. "We plan to hold more such exhibitions and events in the near future. We expect the visitors to join us for the next ten days and appreciate our works", he added.
OSD (Media) to the Chief Minister, Mr Raj Kumar Bharadwaj, and other officers were also present on this occasion.
