Chandigarh, August 20- Haryana Government has also decided to celebrate Gita Jayanti at block headquarters in the month of December this year on the occasion of international level Gita Jayanti Mahotsava.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of international level Gita Jayanti Mahotsava held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal here late last evening.
It was also decided that publicity campaigns would be carried out at airports and railway stations to apprise the people about the significance of Gita and celebrations besides the radio jingles which would be aired on radio FM. Similarly, hoarding of international level Gita Jayanti would be set up at important religious places like Tirupati, Dwarka and Kashi so as to inform the people at large. State level Gita Quiz competitions would be scaled up to the national level. All tirath within the radius of 48 kos would be renovated.
It was informed that competitions would also be organized on Gita and its impact. People would be asked about impact of Gita on their lives, what has changed and what could be by way of newspapers. Apart from this, craft mela to be organized in Kurukshetra would be decorated on the pattern of Surajkund fest. It would be increased upto December 12. A booklet on Gita Shalokas would also be prepared. It has also been decided to explore possibilities to lay the foundation stone of a five star hotel in Kurukshetra on the occasion of international level Gita Jayanti Mahotsav under public private partnership mode.
It was also decided in the meeting that an Advisory Body under the guidance of Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj would be constituted for successful implementation of various programmes of the international level celebrations. Similarly, Advisory committees would also be constituted at district level for the similar purposes. Apart from this, State level Coordination Committee under the chairmanship of Education Minister and a Management committee headed by Chief Secretary would also be constituted.
It was informed in the meeting that a meeting with religious organizations would soon be conducted at Kurukshetra. The interested organizations who want to set up camps for satsang, kirtan, exhibition, langar etc. would be provided basic facilities including space for the same during international level Gita Jayanti celebrations.

Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Information, Public Relations and Languages Mrs Dheera Khandelwal, Principal Secretary Urban Local Bodies Mr Anil Kumar, Director Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Mr Sameer Pal Srow, Secretary to Governor Mr Amit Aggarwal, OSD to Chief Minister Mr Mukul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Kurukshetra Mrs Sumedha Kataria and other officers.
