  • With a view to promote Information Technology-based industries in the State, the Haryana Government would establish an IT Investment Region near Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway: CM 14-11-2016

    • Chandigarh, Nov 14 – With a view to promote Information Technology-based industries in the State, the Haryana Government would establish an IT Investment Region near Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway.
    • This was stated by Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, who was interacting with media persons at the Haryana Pavilion, after the inaugural function of India International Trade Fair-2016 (IITF-2016) being organised at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from November 14 to 27, today. The Fair was inaugurated by the President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
    • The Chief Minister said that Haryana was the focus state of IITF-2016, which had ‘Digital India’ as its theme. He said that the government schemes being implemented in the State had been strengthened through provision of digital services.  An Electronic System Design and Manufacturing cluster would also be set up in the State, which would prove to be a milestone in the field of IT. Common Service Centres would also be established in every village in the Swarna Jayanti Year of the State, he added.
    • Referring to IT-based services being utilised in all government departments, he said that online services were being provided for all tasks related to CM Window, e-Appointment for property registration, e-Registration in tehsils, Integrated Finance Management System, Harsamay portal registration of births and deaths and works of Excise and Taxation Department. He said that 117 e-services were being provided to the people in the State. Haryana was the first State to prepare ‘Jeevan Pramanan’ application for issuing life certificates, and state resident database was also being prepared, he added.
    • Replying to a question about demonetisation of high-denomination currency notes, he lauded the decision of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, and appealed to the people to contribute towards putting an end to corruption and ensuring the welfare of the country. He said that the Government would soon set up more cash counters to facilitate the people. He said that while 63 per cent of the transactions in the country are carried out in cash, in several countries, only four per cent cash transactions are made as a result of IT-based services.
    • The Chief Minister was also taken around   the Haryana Pavilion and the stalls put up there. He signed the pledge on female foeticide under the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ programme at the stall of Women and Child Development Department. He also lauded the artisans associated with cooperatives for providing employment opportunities to the poor. Detailed information about the e-Governance services of the State, the Swarna Jayanti Year of the State from November 1, 2016 to October 31, 2017 and international-level Gita Jayanti Samaroh to be held in Kurukshetra from December 6 to 10, 2016 is being provided in the Haryana Pavilion. Information is also being provided about the industrial progress of the State, apart from national and international-level educational institutions, folk arts, cultural heritage, small and medium industrial units, cooperative institutions and the achievements of the State during its two-year tenure.
    • The Chief Minister also evinced interest in early earthquake warning system, which had been installed in the buildings of Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Gurugram and New Haryana Secretariat, Sector 17, Chandigarh on pilot basis. Haryana is the first State to install this system.
    • He was accompanied by Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Mr. Devender Singh, Chief Administrator, Trade Fair Authority Haryana, Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan and other senior officers.
